In The Kitchen With BGSK

Cara and Phoebe from BigGirlsSmallKitchen.comThe recipe was a definite winner: 2 cameras, a pinch of 300 arri in the back, some fresh lavs. Add two spunky twentysomething chefs and delicious food. Voilá! You have a mouthwatering video ready to be shared with the world.

In anticipation of their upcoming book “In the Small Kitchen,” which makes its debut May 24, the girls at Big Girl Small Kitchen (Cara and Phoebe) were seeking unconventional ways to promote both their brand and new book. Enter Rivaucci.

Together with the girls, Rivaucci has designed a series of “Prep School” videos, to be released weekly on the BGSK blog. Big Girls Small Kitchen is dedicated to helping quarter-life cooks learn the ins and outs of their small kitchens as they venture into the world after college.

The collaboration was amazing and I have to admit, one of the great perks of working with food-related videos is the fact that you get to taste some awesome food. The more we shot (all day), the more we ate. By the time we wrapped, we were tired and completely full. Thanks, Cara and Phoebe for the delicious treats!

This is Phoebe's specialty, but we loved both.

Stay tuned in the coming weeks to watch all the shorts we produced and learn a thing or two about the inner workings of a small kitchen. In the meantime, enjoy some behind the scenes photos during the shoot, and learn how to deveing a shrimp.

We got all the kernels in the bowl!

Had awesome food, created cool videos, made some new friends!

Gotta love setting up those lights! Lighting looks great! I always love to see a behind the scenes shot to see how everything was setup.
